If you've ever had a package stolen from your porch, you understand the need for some form of package protection system. The new Amazon In-Car option allows delivery drivers access to your vehicle's trunk to safely place your packages and orders where no porch pirate can go. Here's what you need to know about the new Amazon In-Car app.
- You'll Need the Right Car – Not all cars come with the Amazon In-Car app available. Many new Volvo vehicles include the Amazon Alexa app, which can access Amazon In-Car when activated. Contact our team to see which new Volvo vehicles are capable of this feature.
- You'll need an Amazon Prime Account
- You'll Need Access to the Amazon Key App – Sign in and choose to use the Amazon In-Car feature. If you don't, then the delivery drivers won't be able to find your car on their end.
- The Item Delivered Must Meet Delivery Specifications – Any delivered items can't be over 50 pounds, larger than 26X21X16 inches, valued at over $1,300, and require a signature.
If these circumstances are met, then you can expect a delivery to your car's trunk. When your item is ready to be delivered, the courier will find your car around Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Torrance, or beyond, scan the package, request for you to unlock your Volvo on the app, and place the package in the trunk. They'll then close and secure the trunk, and confirm the delivery.
